About Ichiran

Let me introduce you to Ichiran, a ramen restaurant in Japan that’s all about focused flavor and comforting bowls done right. Tucked away in Kobe at 〒650-0012 Hyogo, Kobe, Chuo Ward, Kitanagasadori, 1 Chome−9−9 第1岸ビル 1F/B1F, this spot feels like a go-to place when you want ramen without distractions. Ichiran is known for a calm, streamlined vibe that lets the food take center stage, so it works whether you’re grabbing a quick bite after a long day or settling in for a relaxed dine-in meal. The space is set up for on-site services, but it’s also convenient if you prefer takeaway or delivery, which makes it easy to enjoy their ramen wherever you are. What really stands out is how approachable the menu feels, because everything is designed to be simple, satisfying, and consistent. Alongside the main ramen offerings, you’ll find small plates that pair nicely with a bowl, and there’s also alcohol and beer available if you want something extra on the side. Late-night food is another plus here, especially for travelers or locals who find themselves hungry after hours. The overall experience at Ichiran balances speed and quality, so you’re not stuck waiting forever, yet the food still feels carefully prepared. I usually describe it as the kind of ramen restaurant you can recommend confidently, since it fits so many situations without trying too hard. From solo diners to casual meetups, Ichiran keeps things straightforward, flavorful, and welcoming, which is exactly what you want when introducing someone to a dependable ramen spot in Kobe. It’s the kind of place where the routine feels reassuring, because the process is smooth, the atmosphere stays low-key, and the focus never drifts away from the ramen itself, making repeat visits feel natural rather than forced. For anyone exploring Kobe’s food scene, this location quietly fits into the rhythm of the neighborhood and everyday dining habits.

This is the second attempt of this ramen franchise. I've had the pleasure of visiting, with my first experience being in Taipei. I have to say, this location impressed me even more—I think it’s actually better than the first one! Despite being a franchise, the quality of the ramen is outstanding and consistently excellent. The broth is rich, and the noodles are perfectly cooked. A huge plus is how much you can customize your order, from the richness of the broth to the firmness of the noodles and the amount of garlic or spice.

Broth is very porky and clean. I got all the recommended with more garlic and medium spice which was a good amount of spice for me. We went around 1pm and the line up took roughly 15 minutes. It's good to experience however I don't think it's worth it if the wait is super long.

Consistently delicious tonkotsu ramen! Perfect restaurant for solo-diners. Regardless of the location, Ichiran is very tourist-friendly, offering their menu in different languages. It’s also very easy to customize your ramen, so you can discover a tonkotsu ramen that’s perfect for you!

Ichiran's ramen is great in general and this place is not an exception. No much else to add except that you should go here if you want good remen and if you do not mind spending a bit of time in the queue. Oh and the toilet here is quite humorous.

20251026 - one of the best tonkatsu ramen chain in japan that have stores across japan. Ordered 2 ramen for 2600, sgd 22.67. Pork slices are tender, soup is flavourful, and noodles cooked to perfection. Definitely will eat during every trip!
